RBC FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP

*If you wish to proceed with a confirmed spot, please return to the application page and click “Apply” under your chosen cohort. Scholarship applicants are not eligible to confirm a spot in the program while their scholarship application is under review.

DETAILS:

A limited number of need-based RBC Foundation Scholarships, valued at $2,500* each, are available for every offering to support the participation of charitable not-for-profit board members and executive directors who otherwise may not be able to participate in the program due to financial considerations. Spots are reserved for scholarship recipients in each cohort.

*As funding only covers tuition fees, all scholarship recipients are responsible for paying applicable taxes in the jurisdiction that the course is offered.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

  • Applicants must be a board member or executive director of a CRA registered charitable organization. Please provide a CRA charity number along with your application (Charities typically end with “RR 0001” and/or can be easily searched through the Government of Canada’s List of Charities).
  • Applicants with limited financial means (e.g. personal, organizational, lived experience).
  • Applicants from equity-deserving groups are highly encouraged to apply and to voluntarily self-identify in the application.
  • Only one (1) applicant from the same organization is eligible to apply in a single academic year (September – June) to ensure there are a diversity of experiences and candidates within each offering of the program.

WHO IS NOT ELIGIBLE?

  • Organizations whose primary objectives are religious or sectarian.
  • The RBC Foundation scholarship is held for individuals with limited financial means. If you have the means to support yourself financially, please do not apply for the scholarship. Spots will not be reserved for unsuccessful scholarship applicants.
  • Applicants who hold a confirmed spot as paid participants. (Note: scholarship applicants are not eligible to hold a confirmed spot in the program as paid participants).
  • Multiple applicants from the same organization in a single academic year (September – June).
  • Partial scholarships are not available.

HOW TO APPLY:

Applicants must submit a completed application form and a funding request letter (no more than two pages in length) by the deadline stated on the course’s website.

Strong, successful funding request letters detail the applicant’s financial need and the mission of the organization. The letter should also demonstrate how participation in this program will impact any of the following communities: Indigenous, Newcomers, Visible minorities, Persons with disabilities, and/or Underserved populations with limited access to resources.

We want to learn more about you! Please tell us as much as you can and demonstrate your financial need, who you are, and why you would not be able to attend the program without this funding. Applicants from equity-deserving groups are encouraged to self-identify in the application.

One funding request letter is required per applicant.

DECISIONS:

Scholarship deadlines are available on the course’s website. Decisions will be communicated to applicants shortly after this deadline.

Applications received after the deadline will not be accepted, but can be considered for an upcoming offering upon request. Please note that all decisions are final and there is no guarantee of receiving a scholarship.
