The NFP Director

Not-for-profit boards can be as complex and challenging as for-profit boards in today's environment of heightened awareness and demand for accountability, transparency and social responsibility.

This session brings together seasoned directors and senior executives with diverse experience on both NFP and for-profit boards to discuss the role of the NFP director.

Learning Outcomes:
- Gain a stronger understanding of the various types of NFP boards as well as the roles, responsibilities, and stakeholder issues associated with each type
- Define what good governance means to a NFP board and its constituents
- Identify the similarities and differences between for-profit and NFP boards including accountability to stakeholders, regulations and expectations and required skills
- Assess the risks, board dynamics, confilcts of interests, relationship with management and other key considerations before joining an NFP board
